Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie Treats

So last year I created a number of snacks and recipes in partnership with Disney Junior: Puppy Dog Pals Puppy Chow Snack Mix, Lion Guard Lion Cookie Pops and some Mickey and the Roadster Racers Rice Krispie Treats! They were so much fun for the kids that I wanted to share the classic Mickey Shaped Treats with you again here so that you can share the Disney Magic with them from the comfort of home.

How to Make Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie Treats

First I whipped up a fresh batch of rice krispie treats (see classic recipe below) in a large jelly roll pan. These are thinner than I would normally make and I also used another pan to press down on top to try to condense the treats as much as possible, to make them ideal for the Mickey Mouse shaped rice krispie treats!

Once those were set up – I used a Mickey head cookie cutter to cut out the Mickey shaped rice krispie treats!

They’re cute just as is – right?! Literally those two steps didn’t take much time at all and I know your kiddos would appreciate these treats too! So if you’re strapped for time, stop right here! But I kept going… To make the treats into pops, I dipped popsicle sticks into a little melted vanilla candy melts and inserted them at the bottom of the crispy treats. I let those dry for a bit before moving to the next step because you’re going to be handling them quite a bit.

Once you feel those popsicle sticks are cooled and secure, you can move to the next step of decorating!

Decorating Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie Treats

Start by melting chocolate candy melts – I used a combination of light and dark cocoa to achieve a color I liked. I also used shallow small paper plates as you don’t need a lot of chocolate to dip and you need it to be shallow to dip the front of your Homemade Mickey Krispie Treat.

Once dipped, set aside to let dry. Since some of the chocolate may settle down into the nooks of the krispie treat, and dip once again. Once the chocolate layer is dry, melt red candy melts into a candy piping bag and add red to the bottom of the krispie treat. Smooth that out before moving to the next step.

Before the red melts harden, add two yellow candies for buttons and red sanding sugar on top.

Let them dry and voila! Classic Homemade Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie Treats! They were fun and actually easy to make. Perfect for curing that Disney hangover or creating the perfect treat for your kiddos.
