Have a Moana fan in the house? Create the Heart of Te Fiti with just a few craft supplies! Perfect for Moana party favors!
My daughter recently had a Moana themed birthday party and, of course, she HAD to have something that resembled the Heart of Te Fiti. I was determined to make something that wouldn’t disappoint for all of her friends’ goodie bags! I came up with a very easy and creative way that each child could take home their very own heart.
First I bought a VERY inexpensive green Oven-Bake Clay from our local store…..they usually have them for around $1. I needed about 16 hearts so I only bought one package that had 4 sticks of clay….I then cut each stick into quarters.
At this point I just used my fingers to create something that resembled the heart of Te fiti with each quarter of clay. Really, your creativity can go anywhere at this point. Make it an actual heart or a round stone. Whatever you prefer. Once molded to the shape you desire, take a toothpick and put the designs on. Try not to have too many ragged edges from the toothpick as you want a smooth surface once it has baked.
Now it’s time to BAKE! I just followed the package directions for these beauties and they came out wonderful! For an added effect, I purchased green paint and glow in the dark paint!
After painting the stones with a shiny green color and letting them dry, we brushed glow in the dark paint on them as well so that our Heart of Te Fiti could glow just like in the movie!
Lastly, we covered each heart with Mod Podge to make sure it keeps it’s beauty forever.
It was a hit and definitely a MUST do for your next Moana themed party!
